The Hermit’s Cabin

I really like this rustic little hermit’s cabin designed by Mats Theselius for Arvesund, a company in Sweden. It’s appearance is a little deceptive due to the rustic barn wood exterior and its one of a kind hand built look, but it’s in fact a carefully designed and manufactured structure.

I especially like the vintage looking stove they’ve designed for it which has a water tank encompassing the stack which heats water while you heat the room or cook. The website makes it sound like they are only available in Europe. Photo Credit Arvesund.

Does anyone know if there is a similiar style stove sold here in the states? It looks like a really cool design. I can most likely duplicate the cabin, but would love to find out if those stoves would be available here.

    Thanks,

  2. I’ve never seen another stove like that. I believe their website says its a custom design. Love the idea of heating the water passively while the stove heats. I wonder how hard it would be for a small stove manufacturer to make one like that?
