Hungry Hollow Parcel

by Michael Janzen on September 27, 2009

On Sunday mornings Julia, Katie and I listen to Breakfast with the Beatles, a weekly radio show on KOZT, and dream about moving back to Mendocino County. Julia was surfing the Mendocino County craigslist looking at real estate for fun and found this very interesting tiny house on a bridge. It’s off-the-grid and probably not exactly a legal dwelling but it does sit on 27+ acreas near Philo, California. I’ve posted tiny houses on bridges before on Tiny House Living and just had to share this lucky find with you all. Have a great Sunday!

    Hi Michael,
This reminds me of one of the pictures in the book ‘Handmade Houses’ by Art Boericke. I did a review of the book here, http://www.secrets-of-shed-building.com/handmade-houses.html . I used a couple of images from the book one of which looks very similar to the one you’ve got in the picture above. It can’t be though as the book was printed about 40 years ago and I think that most of the buildings were in Washington State. Great meditation spot though.

    Cheers

    John

That “Handmade Houses” book is great, and I thought the same thing….seen this before (well, almost the same thing). The one in Boericke’s book has a see-through floor (a portion of it) so you could watch the creek flow by beneath you. Very cool book- just wish there was more/more to come (The sign of a great book I suppose).
