Cabin Cash and Alternative Currencies (offer expired)

Douglas Rushkoff, the author of Life Inc. – How the World Became a Corporation and How to Take It Back has been bringing back the idea of alternative currencies to empower community and small business.

I don’t know if architect Andy Sheldon has read Rushkoff’s book or has strategically chosen to move in this direction but he’s currently running a special offer that epitomizes alternative currency philosophies that Andy is calling Cabin Cash.

Until April 11, 2010 you can buy $100 in Cabin Cash for $67. You can then use this credit to buy his small house plans now or at a later time. To sweeten the offer he’s also throwing in a free materials list, an extra set of plans, and a free shed plan (see his website for details).

You can read about alternative currencies on wikipedia and listen to Douglas Roshkoff talk about it in Life Inc The Movie.

  1. David Wright says:

Very cool that this is being offered. Are these pictures available anywhere of a home that has been constructed with these plans? Cheers, David

Jct: You have to wonder how long they’re going to applaud small local community currency systems before taking time to think about the global UNILETS Millennium Declaration C6 model.
