Would you like one of my first 3D printed tiny house models? Today only, I’m running a giveaway – and you could win a tiny house scale model. You can enter at http://bit.ly/3Dtinyhouse.
This is the second version of my 3D Printed Tiny House Scale Model. I’m learning so much about 3D printing and making improvements to the design and function daily. This version was drawn about two weeks ago and the printed version arrived today in the mail.
It works perfectly – except that I didn’t make the groove in the floor deep enough for the furniture to fit snugly in the houses. I think a little bit of hot glue will do the trick – but that’s not what I was looking for. The groove in the floor is 1mm deep and it needs to be at least 2mm deep. It’s not a difficult fix to make in the 3D drawings – in fact as soon as I stop typing this blog post I’ll make the change and upload the new version. I know 2mm will work because the upper cabinets have a 2mm deep groove that they fit into that works great.
Prototyping is an iterative process. 3D printing makes it much quicker and easier. The 3D printed end product is also super durable and high quality – as much as many mass produced products. It really amazes me how far we’ve come so fast with this kind of attainable technology. It really speeds the innovation cycle.
After I do a quick update on my drawings I’ll post more on these prototypes. In the mean time be sure to enter to win one! Entry deadline is 12 Noon EST Saturday March 25, 2017. You can find the entry form here: http://bit.ly/3Dtinyhouse
